The Opportunity
 
Due to our recent growth and international expansion, we are seeking an independent and accomplished Sales Manager responsible for all sales activities in the assigned ROW (Rest-Of-World) sales branch. The primary goal of this position is to identify, manage, and close new opportunities with key accounts across Africa, Asia and South America. In addition to business development, the ROW RSM will be leading a complimentary team of Account Managers responsible with the region. This candidate will be working remotely with frequent travel to customer locations, with regular team meetings as may be required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Prepare and submit monthly sales forecast for designated territory; effectively use our CRM to provide insight into active opportunities in all stages of the sales cycle.
  • Drive performance in designated territory.
  • Forecast and analyze sales drivers and identify new opportunities.
  • Day-to-day management and leadership of a growing ROW sales team including weekly sales calls and ongoing in-field coaching
  • Penetrate, negotiate, and manage global funding network within Geneva, Washington DC and at country-level
  • Plan a monthly travel schedule to maximize the amount of face time with customers, identifying customer locations that can be added to the travel schedule.
  • Successfully demonstrate our IVD devices to potential customers.
  • Utilize the full capability of our CRM system for documenting the sales process by scheduling future activity and follow-ups in the system while also overseeing team CRM usage.
  • Submit weekly sales reports to the Vice President, Commercial to update on team sales activity.
  • Managing existing distribution network while securing new distributors and direct customers.
  • Request support from team when customer needs prompt attention or follow-up assistance and verify that needed action has been taken.
  • Participate in weekly sales calls to update and discuss sales strategy.
  • Build internal relationships with our Logistics and Marketing teams utilizing their support as needed to close sales.
  • Provide monthly sales forecast for accounts.
  • Routinely review and adjust the business plan and identify top prospects.
  • Generate leads through industry networking, asking for referrals when appropriate.
  • Participate in trade shows and company seminars as required.
  • Participate in quarterly meetings with Sales Team as an opportunity for Territory planning and sales management support efforts.
  • Develop presentations and sales materials as needed.
  • Partner with Marketing on lead generation.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • 10+ years of progressive field sales experience and a desire to be customer-facing.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Resident of South Africa
  • Able to work from home and travel worldwide.
  • Existing knowledge and established network within the international NGO space.
  • Prior experience in IVD sales highly desired.
  • Managerial experience preferred.
  • Hands-on international exposure with a technical background preferred.
  • Outstanding verbal, written, and presentation skills, including the ability to explain technical information.
  • Outstanding strategic skills with solid creative thinking.
  • Strong sales analysis.
  • Detail oriented and self-starter.
  • Results oriented and deadline management drive.
  • Travel requirement 60%.
